I'm an experienced freelance graphic designer and art director, providing print and website design services for businesses and organizations worldwide since 2003.

Logos I designed for the BAGS Junior Golf Tour and Hamley's Tea & Coffee Co. were recently featured in the book BASIC LOGOS by Index Books, and a corporate identity I designed for Linda Loftus was featured in a book called GRAPHICALLY SPEAKING: A Visual Lexicon for Achieving Better Designer-Client Communication by Lisa Buchanan.

To keep overhead costs down, I work from a home office in Barrie, Ontario and hire outside specialists such as illustrators, copy writers, marketing specialists and website programmers when needed. This means I can offer a wide range of services at reasonable prices and quicker turn around times.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Freelancing from a home office since 2003
  • Excellent technical design skills with a high level of proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro CS5
  • Strong grasp of colour theory, typography and principles of design
  • Working knowledge of design in both print and web, for editorial and corporate clients
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management abilities
  • Experienced in creative direction and production of magazines, directories, show guides and other multi-page publications
  • Able to take direction, engage in critiques and accurately follow instructions
  • Proven experience in creating trouble-free press-ready files for print
  • A creative thinker with strong problem solving skills
  • I have a thick skin and always design with the end user and/or client in mind
  • Ability to meet deadlines
